If you’re visiting Marlborough for the Saint Clair Vineyard Half and are worried about finding a place to stay, don’t be – there’s still plenty of room if you’re looking in the right places.

Not only is there still room in the heart of Blenheim, one of the best things about this beautiful region is that it’s so central.

Picton, Waikawa, Havelock and the Marlborough Sounds are all only a short drive from the starting line, and all promise a great spot for a weekend away.

Bookabach still has listings aplenty, like this one (right) in the Pelorus Sound, which sleeps 9 people, and is only about half an hour’s drive to the event – what better way to unwind post-race than sitting on the deck, glass of Saint Clair Wine in hand?

Or you could try this one (left) on Airbnb; it’s in Waikawa, sleeps six and is only a few minutes from Picton, and another 20 minutes to the Saint Clair cellar door.

And for those who love a bit of a retreat you can try Lochmara Lodge… it’s located in the heart of the Queen Charlotte Sound, offering accommodation with stunning views, a cafe offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, activities, and transport to and from Picton. From Picton, it’s only a 20 minute drive to Blenheim, and the Saint Clair Vineyard Half.

You can fly, ferry or drive to Marlborough, and once you get here car rentals are cheap and there’s an abundance of water taxi services around – getting from A to B is easy, so all you need to do is pick a spot to rest your head, and get booking!
