Last Minute Things You Need to Know

Posted:

So the countdown is on, and like we said in our recent email, if you haven’t started training yet, you’re probably best to wing it on the day. But fear not! We have faith in you.

If you still haven’t given much thought to the logistics of the race next week (yep, next week!) don’t worry, because that’s what this blog is all about.

Here are all the last minute things you need to know.

Your key source of information now is the the 2017 event information section of our website. Here, you’ll find all the race info you should ever need, and probably even more. It covers everything from registration, start times and course maps, right through to drink stations and even treats at the finish line. We told you it included everything.

Bib numbers will also vital to making your way to the start line next Saturday. You may have noticed by now that your E-ticket has been updated with your bib number. This is the original E-ticket that was sent to you on confirmation of your entry.

As this might have been a while ago for some, it can be found by searching your inbox for “tiktok”, where you should find a link to your E-ticket.

You will need this number to register for the race, on Friday, May 12 between 10am and 9.30pm at the Marlborough Convention Centre. Here you will also collect your race pack, which will include your race bib, bus tickets, pre-ordered merchandise, and TREATS.

Remember to look carefully inside your race pack in case you’ve scored yourself a sweet spot prize – we’ll be placing them in the bags to save you standing around for a prize giving after the race.

If you can’t make it to registration on Friday, your pack can be picked up by somebody else, provided they have a copy of your E-ticket.

This will also be the time to make any last minute changes to your entry, as no changes can be made on event day. If you’re in this boat, please come along to registration with a bit of spare time and we will get it done then – but there will be a fee for all changes.

If you can’t find your E-ticket, contact us and we will send you another link. Please confirm your email address when you contact us as that is the most common reason that you may not have received an E-ticket.

We encourage you to save the E-ticket to your phone if you can, to avoid printing excessive amounts of paper. This is NOT your E-ticket – but is an example of what it will look like….

If you are unable to get yourself registered on Friday please email us and we will make alternative arrangements.

And don’t forget Feast Marlborough – this is our three day food extravaganza celebrating Marlborough food and wine, kicking off with a street food market in the centre of town on Friday May 12th from 3-7pm.

Renowned chef Martin Bosley will join some of Marlborough’s best restaurants, using the region’s best produce to create some amazing street food. No need to book, just rock up, get amongst the shopping, get amongst the food, listen to some live music and set the tone for a great weekend.

The Feast Marlborough weekend continues on Saturday night with some spectacular dining options, and finishes on Sunday morning with brunch at venues throughout the region. Prior bookings are highly recommended.
