Saint Clair Vineyard Half a Finalist in 2018 New Zealand Event Awards

Vineyard Half Recognised as one of the Top Events in New Zealand

Seven years of hard work has resulted in the Saint Clair Vineyard Half being named as a finalist for the 2018 Best National Event category in the New Zealand Events Association (NZEA) awards.

The locally owned and operated event is the only finalist from the top of the South. The annual awards recognise events which are the ‘best of the best’ throughout New Zealand.

“We’ve been working on growing and improving our event since we purchased it in 2011. We’re a family owned and operated business and take great pleasure in seeing our entrants enjoy their day and trip to Marlborough. We love showing off this gorgeous place we’re lucky enough to call home,” says Vineyard Half co-owner Chris Shaw.

The NZEA awards are fiercely competitive, and 2018 saw a third more entries than in 2017.

“The calibre of the entries increases year on year, so to be named a finalist is a significant achievement and worthy of celebration,” NZEA General Manager, Ségolène de Fontenay says.

All event entries are judged by an independent panel of industry professionals, who look for excellence across event planning and implementation.

“The Saint Clair Vineyard Half is more than a running event. The course includes seven bands, five food stops, a tonne of treats, and our unique vineyard locations that entrants get to run or walk through. Ultimately, it’s about having a great time with your mates and an unforgettable weekend of challenge and reward,” Chris says.

The award winners will be announced at the NZEA Event Awards function in Auckland in March next year.
