We are super excited to announce Bowel Cancer New Zealand entries for the 2017 Vineyard Half are open!
There are only 150 BCNZ entries available, so if you’ve got your eye on joining us for next year’s event on Saturday May 13, and you’d like to help raise money for BCNZ, then sign up here.
Over the past three years, Vineyard Half participants have raised more than $110,000 for this very important cause, which provides support for patients and families affected by bowel cancer and education on signs and symptoms.
Bowel cancer is the number two cancer killer in New Zealand, but it doesn’t have to be that way. In 75 per cent of cases bowel cancer is curable if it’s caught early enough.
BCNZ executive member Rachel Holdaway, celebrated 10 cancer-free years at the 10th Vineyard Half in 2016, and is looking forward to joining us again in 2017 with another group of awesome BCNZ entrants.
BCNZ Vineyard Half entries cost $140 with $50 going directly to the organisation, while entrants pledge to raise at least $150 for the organisation.
In return for their fantastic effort, BCNZ entrants receive a Thermatech Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon Bowel Cancer New Zealand training singlet with their name on it, support to set up and manage an online fundraising site, exclusive access to the BCNZ tent at the start and finish line on race day, super incentive prizes, and this year for the first time extra goodies in their race pack!
Rachel says the Vineyard Half is an awesome way for people to tick off a major personal goal, while giving back to the community.
“All our runners love the experience and it’s a great incentive to train for an event and raise money for a very worthwhile cause.”
