About the Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon

The Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon was started in 2007 by a Blenheim couple, Rachel and Callum. They established the event with the support of their super sponsor Saint Clair Family Estate, and in the first year 200 hardy Marlburians took to the start line.

The popularity of the course soon saw the event grow to around 1500 entrants, before it was sold to us, Anna and Chris, in 2011 (that’s us there on the left).

We’ve now owned the event for six years, and we’re excited as ever about heading into our 7th year running the race, with just over 4000 entrants.

We are a family owned and operated business, and we take pleasure and huge satisfaction from seeing our entrants enjoy their day, and their trip to Marlborough. We also love showing off the gorgeous Marlborough scenery, as well as our amazing hosts, Saint Clair Family Estate (and their wine) to our entrants.

On that note, we still have five of the original 2007 entrants who have run the race every year (that’s 11 years!), and we call them our “survivors”. Basically that means that they will get a complimentary entry into the event each year until they literally are not surviving anymore….

Our event doesn’t happen without a huge team effort over race week, and we are really lucky to have a team of super staff who help us over those few days. These guys and girls are mostly our friends and families who get bribed, begged and called in to help, and you’ll see them at registration, on the course, being our hardy race angels, or anywhere else that a friendly face is seen.

We love to talk about our event so please free to contact us here – we would love to hear from you.
