If you look behind Marlborough’s vines and wine, you’ll find the most incredible producers, growing, harvesting and blending the kind of food that makes you want to savour every mouthful.
That’s exactly what you can do during and after the 2015 Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon. Your race trail will weave past an eclectic mix of bands, drummers, jugglers and ukuleles, plus all the little treats you’ve come to expect of our event.
Then on the other side of the finish line, you’ll run into a hub of Marlborough’s best produce, set amid the vines at Saint Clair Family Estate’s cellar door, in the best little province in the country.
Once again we’ve got the MasterChef New Zealand mother and daughter duo cooking up a storm with Cloudy Bay Clams, which were hugely popular at Vineyardhalf 2014. Jordan and Nikki will create awesomeness with some delicious kai moana, caught right here in Cloudy Bay.
Pedro’s back with his Empanadas, as are the very popular Premium Game with their wild game burgers, and this year they’ll be joined by some spectacular new local producers.
If you haven’t heard of Garlic Noir then you’re in for a taste sensation – somewhere between a truffle and garlic, this indescribable treat is grown right here in Marlborough, and we’re excited as all get out to have them at the finish line.
P?take Honey is one of those decadent little treats you’ll have earned. You’ll love their honey — grown right there among the grapes — drizzled on pancakes, especially after you’ve had one of their pick-me-ups out on the course.
Ritual Coffee Co will be making their locally roasted coffee at the site and Heather McAlpine, the genius behind “Ritual” – Blenheim’s best café – will be making a Mexican themed vegetarian creation with a fresh tomato/salsa type thing…all we can say is YUM.
And, as if that’s not enough, Saint Clair Family Estate will be on hand for that post race recovery award winning wine, along with Renaissance Brewing company, to compliment your food with some great beer.
Last but not least, we’ll have the most rockin’ good band doing their thing.
We can’t wait.
