Happy New Year to all our friends. We are excited to kick off 2016 with another early Vineyard Half sell-out!
With only 30 regular entries and 63 Bowel Cancer New Zealand entries left, we’d like to say thanks to all the good people joining us for another epic event on May 14 in beautiful Marlborough.
Over the past two years we’ve collectively raised a whopping $80,000 for Bowel Cancer New Zealand.
Rachel Holdaway of BCNZ says the funds raised by Vineyard Half entrants have been crucial for the organisation – funding their new website in 2014 and their national awareness campaign in June 2015.
“New Zealand has some of the worst rates of bowel cancer in the world, yet we have no screening programme in place,” Rachel said. “We work really hard to spread awareness and educate people on the symptoms, because if it’s caught early, it’s very survivable.”
Charity entry fees are $135 with $50 going straight to the organisation. Entrants are asked to raise at least $150 and receive ongoing support to achieve this goal, plus special perks including a personalised BCNZ singlet for race day.
So if you want to join us – don’t delay, get your skates on and enter today!
