Become a sponsored runner... - Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon

Become a sponsored runner…

Posted:

You may have noticed that we have the opportunity for you to become a sponsored runner this year.  We’re a bit passionate about this cause and hopefully some of you are too.

The stats are like stats always are with cancer; depressing.  More people are diagnosed with bowel cancer than prostate and breast cancer combined, yet we hear less about it than either of these two.  The great thing is that with screening and awareness its possible to raise survival from 55% to 75% of the 3000 kiwis diagnosed with this disease every year.

Beat Bowel Cancer Aotearoa was founded in 2010 by a group of patients and clinicians with the aim of raising awareness, promoting the establishment of an effective screening program and supporting those diagnosed with the disease.  Here at Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon we aim to raise $20000 for this charity and we need your help.

You can play a part by entering as a BBCA charity runner.  You’ll pay $100 for the entry $50 of which will go directly to BBCA; we also ask you to pledge to raise a further $150 by signing up to our Fundraise online site and getting your mates, co-workers and people-you-meet-on-the-bus to sponsor you to do something you were going to do anyway…complete the 2014 Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon.  The #SCVHM will support you with an individually named tee shirt, promotions on facebook and some nifty prizes for the most successful fundraiser.

Even if you dont take the charity entry you can support a runner who has by visiting the BBCA Fundraise online site and sponsoring someone else.

Happy training,

Chris
