Right on schedule; we went back to work and the weather got better.
Its just as well that the weather was never that bad this summer and the work is just great fun if you’re organizing the Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon. And its great fun because we’ve got some good things happening for May 11 2013.
First up we will have Kiwi songstress Mel Parsons playing at the finish line…this year we are all about atmosphere so we thought she would be fantastic as you can see from her you tube clip.
We love local produce so we’ve gone out and found some of our province’s iconic producers and persuaded them to come to the party. Expect to see some food from the sea. Its what we do in Marlborough when we’re not growing wine. We believe the seafood rivals the provinces wine in excellence. Representing this fine tradition of seafood will be New Zealand King Salmon with their fine fillets, and new for 2013 The Hairy Mussel Company will be doing something amazing with mussels (good for your aching muscles?).
The Saint Clair Cellar door will be open for business but with 2500 competitors plus supporters it would be wise to book ahead, you will be able to do that on the their website soon. They will also be
making their famous chicken pies, with wine tasting and sales available from their tent. If you are after more liquid refreshment the Renaissance Brewing Company will be there to help slake your thirst. Like Saint Clair Family Estate they are passionate about their product and have won many industry accolades.
You will soon be able to pre-order a picnic hamper for the day of the event. This will give both participants and spectators the opportunity to relax and enjoy the atmosphere while sampling some exceptional New Zealand produce. The hampers will be available through a pre-order facility from the Saint Clair website and will be available for collection on the day. If you would like to express interest in the hampers please email ninabryce@clear.net.nz and we will let you know details as soon as we have more information.
If that’s not enough there will be massages, face painting and coffee, a sausage sizzle, Peak Fuel and a wee run through one of the worlds great wine growing valleys…no wonder its easy to come back to work!
