You’ll find everything from Cloudy Bay Clams and King Salmon to Premium Game wild meat sandwiches and Birch Hill berry ice cream. The Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon is on in Marlborough on May 10 2014 and it’s set to be better than ever. With gorgeous scenery, unexpected entertainment, delicious tasters and a bottle of Saint Clair wine to celebrate your achievement, running doesn’t get much better than this.
Runners and walkers travel through private vineyard land, enjoying spectacular outlooks of river, vine and mountain. In case that’s not enough to keep tired spirits soaring, bagpipes hoot from one vineyard, while a banjo and bongos play at another. Relaxed competitors can stop and savour delicious tasters along the way, including the refreshing sauvignon blanc gelato, while those intent on a fast time can just look forward to the free bottle of Saint Clair wine at the end.
We have a new category this year for those extra speedies who want to test themselves against the best. The Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon course is not known as an extremely fast track due to being mainly off road, but over the years our best runners have still delivered some pretty quick times. In 2013 the fastest man completed the half marathon in 1:13 and the fastest woman was 1:29.So if you think you can run the course in less than 1:40 for men or 1.50 for women can we suggest you enter the new category known as The Dash..We have some extra special spot prizes for this category and to top it off, the fastest man and woman will each receive their body weight in wine provided by Saint Clair Family Estate. Now there is a prize worth training for..
So don’t be shy – this category will be limited to 300 runners so if you feel you can be up there with the fastest on the day then enter your category as The Dash!
